Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey, which is at the heart of the economy, culture and history in this country alone. And there is a population of 8.5 million, and the city is forming one of the largest in Europe and one of the world’s largest cities by population within the city limits. Istanbul has an area of about 5,353 square kilometers. This place became one of transcontinental cities and one of the busiest waterways in the world, between the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea. The population has increased tenfold since 1950, as immigrants from all over Anatolia flock to the metropolis and the city limits have expanded to accommodate it all.

The city experienced a brief period of Persian power at the turn of the 5th century BC Greece, but regained it during the war, Greece and Persia. The Byzantines then continued as part of the Athenian League and its successor, the Second Empire Athens, before finally gaining independence in the year 355 BC. Long allied with Rome, the Byzantines officially became part of the Roman Empire in 73 AD. It currently offers for the summer Olympics in 2020.
