MacDuff Castle in Scotland
MacDuff Castle is a very beautiful Castle with a very long history. This place was originally the fortress courtyard of stone in the 13th century, founded by Michael Wemyss. The Castle remained in ruins with remnants of the family home Wemyss who resided here from the 14th century and until their successors in the 16th century. MacDuff Castle has four floors and the Tower in the 13th century and 14th century five floors with walls of 17th century gatehouse and the 16th century. In the early 17th century, the Court wrapped up by a wall with corner towers and pierced with a gun Port created on the three sides of the road and just west of the Tower, the Western Wall and the southern corner of the outer Court of the tower remains. The remaining buildings of the fortress is destroyed and buried under a mound of rubble. About 2 miles west of Castle and 3 miles north in Hemel Maiden Castle.
