The Valley of Flowers was declared as a national park in 1982 and was a part of Uttarakhand, in the upper reaches of Garhwal. This area lies in the Zanskar region of the Himalayan range with the highest point in the National Park of Gauri Parbat at 6.719 m above sea level. This Valley is known as the home of the fairies according to Hindu Mythology which is very unusual.
